National Camping Award

The ribbon awarded to the unit recognizes significant achievement in annual campouts and/or *****ulative camp outs over a period of years. The ribbon is designed to be displayed with the troop flag. More information is available at the Scout Service Center Office.

To earn the annual National Camping Award, a unit must have days and nights of camping:
10 - Unit Award, No. 17831
20 - Bronze Award, No. 17832
30 - Silver Award, No. 17833
50 - Gold Award, No. 17834

To earn the National Camping Award for *****ulative camping, a unit must have fulfilled the requirements as follows, during its entire history days and nights of camping:
100 - Unit Award, No. 17827
250 - Unit Award, No. 17828
500 - Unit Award, No. 17829
1,000 - Unit Award, No. 17830

Individual Scouts and Scouters may earn a National Camping Award patch. The total number of days and nights can include any combination of camping with the Scout's family, patrol, or unit. Days and nights of camping:
100 - Patch, No. 00296
250 - Patch, No. 00297
500 - Patch, No. 00298
1,000 - Patch, No. 00299

An individual Scout must keep track of his campouts and have them approved by his Scoutmaster. This patch may be worn on the right pocket of the uniform shirt, or placed on the pocket of a backpack or another appropriate place.
