Location: Camp Don Harrington is located 10 miles south of Amarillo, Texas on South Washington (FM 1541). Camp Don is operated by the Golden Spread Council. The camp spans a beautiful canyon on the Prairie Dog Fork of the Red River. Facilities: Camp Don has two swimming pools, dining hall, showers, bathrooms, Rifle and Shotgun Ranges, 5-Stand Shooting Range, COPE and Tower, Cub World, Training Room, Canoes/Rowboats, Fishing area, and Nature Trail. Activities: Camp Don is utilized by all Scouts and families. Many Scouting units use Camp Don as an overnight stay on the way to Philmont Scout Ranch which is only about four hours away. You must be a registered Scout to stay overnight at Camp Don - no outside group may remain overnight. There is only tent camping available.
